Awesome system for the money, not one complaint.

I bought this system immediately after I purchased a 55" tv because I thought it would be a crime to own such a television and use build in sound (although I said I was buying it because I needed the progressive scan DVD player...) and it has been everything I could have asked for.
When I went shopping for a system, the main item I was looking for was a compact speaker design, because I wanted to mount them on my walls. This choice eliminated most of the Polk equipment and a few other manufacturers. I narrowed it down to this system and a Sony system. The feature that won me over was the separate receiver, which made for a nicer integration into a home theater system, and gave the system a much longer shelf life, since you will be able to replace the DVD player without having to buy a new system.
The YHT-740 was introduced more then a year ago, but it is still a solid choice today. With 6.1 DTS ES it is still ahead of today's 5.1 choices, and with the included 5 Disc DVD (which sells alone for almost $200) this is just a great deal. |
