great pack
|
Great pack, plenty of room for all that you need. I like it because it has lots of neat spaces to fit things like batteries, memory cars, filters, adapters, cell phones, pretty much whatever. The ability to customise the size of the compartments inside, (via Velcro dividers), is a big plus as well. This allows me to fit not only my "normal" size lenses, but also one of my big zooms, and also a nice size tela photo. As of now my pack is pretty full, holding two cameras, 7 lenses, a flash, tons of filters, a few lens hoods, and manuals. Even with all of that there is still some extra room, but not much, I feel like I should have gone with the 7, for a bit more room. But for the average person, the 5 is great.
With having all that lens ware, in your bag, you might assume it to be rather heavy, not so. The extra padded straps really do a great job of caring the weight. Also there is also an included waist belt, the help support the really heavy bags. Another great plus is being able to add pouches for other things, i.e. water bottles and even more lens, this is great for quick access to much used lenses.
A few downsides however are the lack of a size between the expedition 5 and 7. I wish the 5 was a little bit bigger, however the 7 is too big for me, a 6 would really be needed. Also, unless you buy the pouches for the lenses, there is no supper fast access to the lenses; you must unzip the whole pack. Which if fine, however sometimes I shot in dusty/sandy places, and wish not to expose everything in my bad to it. However the bad is great at keeping the dust, and rain out, when zippered.
All and all it is a great, very functional pack for the price. It is a bit to spend on a bag however, (I believe mine was around $120 when I bought it) it is def worth it considering the thousands of dollars in equipment I am keeping safe in it.
