♥♥♥♥♥ A great remote... 4 years ago
I bought one of these remotes about 3-4 years ago. At the time, it was a really great remote. It ran all my AV equipement just fine and was easy to use. I really like the LCD display at the top that tells you what component is selected. It has also proved extremely durable. I thoroughly abused mine and it still works fine.

Unfortunately, as AV systems have become more complex, I have outgrown this remote. For a Universal remote to be truely universal, it needs to be able to learn commands from other remotes. Macro buttons also go a long way towards making the remote easy to use. This remote is not learning and has no macro buttons. You'll have to hit 7-8 keys or more to turn your system on or off. If you component isn't on the pre-programmed list, you can't run it with this remote.

Last year I purchased an RM-VL900. It is very similar to this remote in both feel and layout, but is learning and has macros. The difference in usability is huge. If you really want a remote that will replace all of your existing remotes and actually make your system easier to use, spend a little more and get a learning remote with macros. 4 years ago I would have heartily recommended this remote. Now it's out of date and obsolete.
