Demons In My TV!!!!!

| I purchased this Bravia in Feb of 2007. About two months ago the TV started to shut on and off on its own. I kept thinking maybe I hit the remote or something, but the problem started happening when I was away from the chair I keep the remote in. On Dec 24th of this year the TV was rapidly going on/off and started to smell like it was burning up. The set was hot to the touch. I did some research on the Sony Bravia and found that there has been recalls of these kinds of sets by Sony for the very problem I am having. My suggestion to anyone who buys one of these is to 1) buy the extended warranty that the store offers you because if you don't and you go to Sony with the problem they will only offer you a refurbished set 2) Unplug the set when you are not at home, if it has the same weird problem I am having contact the store where you bought it from immediately. This was clearly becoming a fire hazard and my smoke alarms went berserk the night it started smoking. I am now buying a Samsung LCD for my house instead, though I hope that my extended warranty will be honored on this Sony and I'll have a new replacement. I hope I prevent others from going through the hell that I am with this set. |
