Good Blu-ray Player

| After trying to watch HD-DVD's over the hum of my Xbox 360 with the xbox hd-dvd add on, this Blu-ray player is a pure joy to watch movies. To this point I have watched about 15-20 blu-ray movies without one problem. I did upgrade the firmware, which was an easy process with a usb thumb drive. I have a Sharp 1080p native tv, although this player does upconvert standard dvd to 1080p, I don't feel like it does a very good job, still plenty of artifacts, and the dvd's have to be very clean/scratch free in order to play properly. I will probably buy an Oppo upconverting player for all the kids dvds. I have read that others are having trouble with Netflix(rental) blu-ray, but as I mentioned, I haven't had any problems. For the price, don't wait any longer to buy a blu-ray player and this is a fine choice. I removed all standard DVD's from my rental queue, once you go blu you won't go back. |
