Mixed Feelings

I finally made the step-up to Plasma at the end of January in preparation for the superbowl. Purchased through Amazon the TV was about $1000 cheaper than I could get in my area (Denver). TV was sold by 6ave - delivery was fast and efficient in less than a week. Tv worked great for 3 weeks and then went belly up. I had to go back to an old 9 inch screen! 6ave wouldn't help at all - just passed me off to Panasonic. Panasonic actually was pretty helpful. Local repair shop was great ($800 repair to the power unit).
Pros: Great picture
Cons: Seems underpowered in the sound department, No PIP with HDMI, little guidance to get the best picture (the picture settings are overwhelming, TV died after 3 weeks, standard picture looks terrible comparatively, standard picture cannot be sized to widescreen (you'll notice a difference on HD picture (full screen) that goes to 4:3 for commercials that are not HD. |
