| In an earlier review I related a problem with the subwoofer that I have resolved myself after I got to know the system a little better. The subwoofer was cutting out. I thought it was because it was defective and a protection circuit was kicking in but I was wrong. Turns out that since the subwoofer is always pluged in to a seperate circuit than the reciever, it shuts itself off when it is not recieving a signal. I now have the subwoofer turned way up on the reciever to try to keep the signal strong enough during the quieter parts of the movie so it won't inadvertantly cut out. When I am listening to anything other than music CDs and DVDs it still cuts out depending on the input. It happens mostly when there is dialogue and no music to provide a sufficient bass output from the reciever. A little annoying but I can live with it. |
