♥♥♥♥ Overpriced, functionally challenged
...It has never operated well. Deck one broke a few weeks ago (out of warranty). The audio has always been muddy, and has needed at least a 50% boost above other connections. It did OK recording on SP, but only on new or re-blanked tapes. Otherwise it's usually worse than any other VCR I've ever owned. It doesn't provide "frame-by-frame" control for recording as promised -- it has the same one to two second lags as any other VCR. There is also at least the same amount of signal loss between decks as between any two machines, again contrary to ads. It has horrible problems making tapes that track well on other machines, and ditto for playing tapes made on other machines. Sometimes it can't even track on tapes it made itself. I had a ten year old Panasonic and a ten year old JVC that did better recording and playing. It also doesn't have an S-video out, so even if you can record with it, you can't output with the same quality. The remote isn't bad for features (slow reverse on the jog/shuttle, but not on a button, so the speed varies), but the buttons and placements aren't all that well designed. Convinced yet? Buy two machines from somebody else.
