What happened?

| I bought my G.E. DVD player about a year ago and I really didn't use it very much most of my movies are still VHS, so I'm really discouraged from by any more G.E. products with what I have read and from what is happening with mine. At first it would take in the disc and every once in a while-while it was loading it would lock up. Then it started freezing a ways into the movie, and I had to power it down and it wouldn't run any more until it cooled off some, so I let it sit when every it did this very annoying though. Now it is taking in the disc says it is loading and never does you can hear the little motor working, eventually it stops and tells me there is no disc. I figured since it isn't working for me anyway I'd remove the cover and see what it was doing and I loaded a disc and watched it. You can see the motor is working, but it isn't turning the disc you can kind of jump start it by carefully turning the disc while it is in place and it will play the movie, but only for about 5 minutes and then it just says disc and no picture. I wouldn't recommend this product to anyone as many people that have had the same or similar problems with this you would think that G.E. would be concered about what was going on and how they could improve it. I gave it three stars, because it was working okay for a little bit, but guys I don't consider this a use a few times and throw away product. I just expected more from G.E. than I should of I guess. Hope my information helps someone. If anything show some people they aren't alone. |
