Great video flashback

| Yes, there are dull points, and yes there are times when the fast forward button comes in handy, but all in all this set is a winner for either Lennon fans or "fans" of the 70's. What made this all work so well was the real chemistry between Douglas and Lennon/Ono, mainly because they were very good friends, and much fonder friends as a result of the week together. It's fun to watch Douglas "squirm" during some uncomfortable moments when facing the sharp counterculture guests brought on. It was also fun watching Lennon "getting into" the role of a daytime talk host, which developed throughout the week. I was never and am still not an Ono fan, and I actually enjoyed remembering why I never cared for her as she pontificated her views (with her uncharmingly irritating voice)...but this was hugely offset by extremely interesting moments shared by Lennon. Great live performances and a fun collection to have. |
