Haunted Summer Customer Reviews   1     2     3   ♥♥♥♥♥ Slow & twisted This fact-based film was a little slow and twisted for my taste, and I guess was supposed to lay the foundation for Mary Shelley's inspiration to write the classic "Frankenstein." One can glean the Frankie elements from this summer of "free love and drugs," especially since everyone present was tripped out already without the help of hallucinogens. Alice Kriege, playing Mary Shelley, has such dead eyes always. See her also as the Borg Queen in "Star Trek: First Contact" and the ghost woman in "Ghost Story." Laura Dern's character as Mary Shelley's sister and (one of many of) Lord Byron's lover(s) was perhaps the only redeeming character, and her performance was superior to the other actors. All in all, it is an average film about some not-so-average historical figures, one of whom gave us the classic not-so-average story of "Frankenstein."   1     2     3   Non User
