The Funniest Movie John Wayne Ever Made
|
| If you were casting a movie based, however loosely, on the life of Genghis Khan, would you immediately seize on John Wayne for the title role? Howard Hughes did just this, with unintentionally hilarious results. If you can picture 'The Duke' festooned with a thin, drooping mustache, with slanting eyes and eye shadow, and vaguely 'oriental' clothing, you've got some idea of the movie. Add some excellent actors - like Susan Hayward - struggling with the most stilted lines I've heard in a long time and a truly ridiculous plot, and you have a movie that, while a stinker from a serious standpoint, is a barrel of laughs. This is a must-see; you may decide it is a must-have. |
