| If you are a fan of Dr. Weil, or at least open to alternative ideas about our healing system, you may find this video helpful and enjoyable as the philosophical underpinnings for his later works "8 Weeks to Optimum Health" and "Eating for Optimum Health." If you are predisposed to agree with his common-sense approach to combining Traditional Western Medicine and Alternative Therapies, this is probably superior to reading the book. Wait. Stay with me on this. The book naturally offers much greater detail and more anecdotal evidence. But there is something in his calm, assured yet compassionate presentation of this abridged version that enhances its message and lends it additional credibility. So in just 72 minutes you can absorb the necessary, reassuring information and parables and get down to the nitty-gritty details of applying it to YOUR life in his later works, where I believe the books will serve you better. Added Bonus Entertainment- If you're trying to interest a partner in his philosophy and you feel they're starting to drift, you can keep them entertained for a while by seeing how long it will take for Dr. Weil to swat at the fly which is constantly buzzing around his beard and how amazingly few times he does so. It may buy some time for them to get drawn in. Sadly, the Fly Wrangler goes uncredited. (Is that only funny in L.A.?) |
