not HD

Well, I figured if there was a such thing as HD in the amazon unbox, they'd be saying it everywhere they could. I was right. They say it NOWHERE, and it isn't!
It was the source of heated debate at our household, and finally we "rented" this movie, one because we like the movie, two, to see the video quality. The quality is TV quality... it's 480i for those who want the specifics, but it took our tivo "info" screen to get that info, couldn't find THAT anywhere in the amazon specs.
If you look hard and long enough you can find words to the effect that unbox videos are "better than highest quality recordings" setting on tivo! Well, that opens the unbox for sure! HD is better than the highest quality setting. 480i is 480i and there isn't anything that make that look excellent on HD tv. It can look good, but that's not what we were going for.
I give this item a rating of 1 star because it has to have at least one, but all of that star goes for the movie itself. I was very disappointed in the obfuscation by amazon, and the hoops we had to jump through to answer definitively our question.
We'll wait for the HD downloads, if they are ever to come.
(oh, btw, it's a bit onerous also that:
you have to wait 2 to 4 hours for the download to complete, so make sure you aren't thinking this is video on demand, it isn't.
from the moment you first press play, you have 24 hours in which to watch the show before it is erased from your unit. I "get" that it's a rental, and I "get" that we shouldn't have it forever, but it'd be nice to get a little more leash)
