All show and no substance!

The only strong point and the only reason this doesn't get a 1 star rating, is because of the animation. That is the only thing this anime has going for it. The explosions, the water waves, the sun glares, the ocean, it all looks extremely beautiful. BUT THAT IS NOT WHAT MAKES AN ANIME GOOD!
The actual story is the only interesting factor. The glaciers were melted and most of the earth was flooded. During the aftermath, the surviving people are being attacked by water dwelling creatures equipped with their own navy. They focused too much on the animation and left out character development. To include a decent plot and decent villians. Mid way through this and all the way to the end, I didn't give a damn about the characters. And practically everyone you don't know dies a dramatic death.
And the soundtrack. I don't mind jazz music at all. In fact, I like it. But this soundtrack just didn't fit this anime. It felt out of place in every single scene to me. This could have easily worked for Cowboy Bebop.
And the ending I don't really want to touch that. This anime is all show. If your looking for something, just to see how beautiful it is. Then this is your anime. All the people who gave this 1 and 2 stars, and said the only strong point is the animation. Are telling the truth. Buy this at your own risk. |
