♥♥♥♥ Michael Jordan helping out the Looney Tunes gang with a basketball game
We, a friend of mine and I, saw this film regularly back in the late 90s. I thought it was one of the most interesting films at the time, not just for Michael Jordan and the Looney Tunes, but the fact that it would show them interacting in each other's worlds.

While I agree that Michael Jordan is probably not the best performer in the world (but then again, who is?), his talent manages to show itself in other areas, particularly basketball. However, the film does show something of non-fiction segments in which his character (as himself) announces his retirement from basketball and the crowd learns that he would play professional baseball, which winds up being modestly successful. There is also a scene showing him as a golfer.

As some reviewers mentioned, it does seem somewhat strange that the Looney Tunes would need Michael Jordan's help in taking on their opponents called the Monstars for their basketball games, which may or may not have been attributed to one of two things:

a)the Monstars who started out as aliens were tiny and wanted to enslave the LT gang, but the LT gang wants a chance to "defend" themselves and so the aliens accept by allowing the LT gang to challenge them to a basketball game (Why? You ask. Especially when one considers that the tiny aliens, who would be too small to play any basketball even if they knew the first thing about the game in the first place, could have just taken the LT gang, basketball game or no basketball game. Your guess is as good as ours).

b)The initial assumption by the LT gang was that these aliens would always remain their size and so defeating them in a basketball game would be an easy task, but the problem is that the LT gang themselves don't seem to have any prior experience with the game (kind of makes one wonder why they chose it in the first place), which thankfully is ameliorated by the fact that Lola Bunny would like to try out for the team, thus aiding the LT gang's cause even further.

I guess one could say that the storyline is about as flawless as Jordan's performance, but the only thing with which I really had a problem was one of the final scenes, in which the orange Monstar loses his shorts and his rear is exposed for all, including the viewer, to see. An absence of that scene probably would have pushed this to the 4.5-star category.

KAB score: 8.6
