The more serious tone continues...
|
Continuing on from the more serious tone to the series that began in volume 6, this disk finds Yuuri and his friend Ken Murata trying to cope with the oncoming war between the Great Demon Kingdom and the human kingdoms, led by Lord Maxine of the small Cimarron territory. Yuuri and Murata are captured by Maxine, who is aided by the treacherous Adalbert.
Meanwhile, Wolfram tries to find Yuuri's whereabouts, and accompanied by the healer Gisela, travels to the human territories to search for him.
All is not serious, though - a side story involving Gunter, Gwendal, a doll, Lady Anisina, and a small child provides some humorous relief to the otherwise darker tale.
In these four episodes, we learn a great deal more about the history between the demon kingdom and the humans; more about the mysterious Susanna Julia and her family; and a new mystery involving Ken Murata arises - just who *is* he?
All in all, a very worthy and welcome addition to the series (although we'll still have to wait a while to find out what happened to Conrad!)
