A fabulous film to watch it over and over again!

Alfred Hitchcock would seem to have made a tribute film in honor to his birthplace. The triumphal initial sequence over the Thames with a drawbridge working out as a big curtain for the audiences, (where I just missed the triumphal hymn of the well known piece of Haendel s Fireworks music) confers it this picture, one of the most original and radiant opening sequences ever filmed.
And the rest is part of Hitchcock' s spell; a smart script around the live and times of a visibly sexually frustrated serial killer, who employs as weapon, a tie (once again the black humor of this famed director, around one of the most emblematic pieces of any single wardrobe in one of the world centers of the classic elegance per se).
Watch the assassin, (featured by Barry Foster and establish by yourself the resemblance with Michael Caine in Dress to kill, the physical similarities are far to be a mere casualty, don' t you, and how De Palma inverts the roles the assassin is the doctor while in Frenzy the victim was a very expert marriage adviser).
Astounding camera handle and an incisive and microscopic gaze around the British community, through these little and apparently fickle details make of this film a winner formula and marks the last great film of this director.
