Finally, a DVD of this film worthy to own!

I just received a review-copy of this set, and the DVD set is as magnificent as the film.
Both versions of the film (theatrical and extended) are 16x9 anamorphically enhanced and are "very good" transfers, though there's just a touch of mild edge-enhancement that will only be visible on large televisions and front projection screens. But the picture is still excellent, and finally the film has been done justice on DVD. the 2 discs of special-featues are a bonanza of bonus material for anyone who loves this film. Until Criterion releases this on Blu-ray Disc (hopefully soon), this is the best way to see this film outside of a projected release print.
