To say this is a classic is preposterous. It has a very strong, but limited vision. The characterizations are clear, as is the moral tale, the color palets, the dichotomies. But please, this is not genius. Like Eraserhead, the limited vision of the movie becomes tedious at times. Several aspects (such as Price's role, several scenes of the frustrated housewifes, Anthony Michael Hall) are mundane. The goth appearance of Depp is striking for 1990. Burton's stop animation works are a much better realization of his creativity.   1     2     3   Non User
