Yeah, OK, Whatever....

Pardon me for being a bit square, but I don't really care much about AG's sex life. This movie would have worked better if it didn't center on what she did with her genitalia, but rather with her paint brush. The accomplishments listed at the end are light to say the least. She did so much more. I was hoping to see more about her relationship with Michelangelo da Caravaggio. Didn't AG teach his technique of tenebrism around Europe while he was under house arrest or something?
If I wanted an erotic movie, I go to my local adult bookstore.
Finally, I hate the way artists are shown to draw in movies. They generally draw slowly and sensuously in real life, not like they are high on methamphetamine or in some orgiastic state as portrayed in movies. I am an artist myself and generally save my dirty thoughts for after the art making. All of the artists I have known are the same way. It's for the same reason you don't eat a sub sandwich while painting. It's too distracting. |
