At the time I bought this item, I had only watched the Season 1 pilot movie, and didn't even know what the Pegasus plot was about, much less the storytelling depth of the BSG universe. I bought it mainly because Michelle Forbes was on the cover, whom I was a fan of from the Star Trek Next Gen series.

After going through Seasons 1 and 2, it was time to see Razor, a virtually unknown movie with an average 4-star rating. To my pleasant surprise, this "untold story" turned out to be an essential piece to season 2. You may have wondered about the details of Colonel Jack Fisk's inhuman stories regarding Admiral Cain, like the point-blank shooting of her XO for disobeying an order, or the execution of civilian families in order to obtain salvage parts for military use. We go behind-the-scenes of Cylon Agent number Six's relationship to the Admiral and the events that lead to her capture and torture. And finally the focus of the story is on Lieutenant Kendra Shaw, who serves as the Admiral's right-hand officer and turns out to be her only true remaining legacy. The concept of the Cylon Hybrid is introduced.. or at least I don't remember hearing about it up to this point, and a nice cameo of some familiar "characters" from the original BSG series. The extra mini-episodes about Adama during the first cylon war is also a welcome addition.

Overall a fascinating "flashback" movie. If you liked Pegasus and Resurrection Ship, I recommend this dvd.
